I saw this sunset from an airplane window, somewhere over California, on my way home from a business trip. Over the next month, I faced one of the most challenging times in my life. All I could do was cry and paint this lake over and over, as I watched everything else fall apart.
I kept the original on my desk afterward. A reminder that no matter how hard things get, I'll survive.
I called it "Hope."
